Happy New Year

New York gave us time to catch up with ourselves after a hectic lead in to leaving NZ.  It's been great, our location was perfect and the only thing we missed out on was the white Christmas.  The two major highlights of NY was the 9/11 Memorial Museum - what an amazing tribute to those impacted and impossible not to be affected by the messages left behind and the view from the Top of the Rock - Rockefeller Centre.  Had a memorable walk through Central Park and a bike ride around Lower Manhattan as well.

New Year's Eve was great, being part of the Time Square tradition and counting in the New Year with the ball drop.  We were part of an estimated million strong crowd, although from our great bar location at the Hyatt - 54 stories up thankfully.  The feeling was hugely festive and happy and we can now tick that one off the bucket list.  Our visit to NY is almost over as we await our flight (or 3 of them) from JFK to Ushuaia (via Panama and Buenos Aires) - it's going to be a big day and now the adventure truly begins...
