After leaving NY at 4.30am (2nd Jan) and 3 flights, 11,271 kms and 14 hours in the air (the remainder in transit) we arrived in Ushuaia, Argentina on the 3rd January at 10.00am. Officially the bottom of the world Ushuaia is the southernmost city, with the southernmost roads and temperatures much the same as NY (under 10). Time to remind our legs how to trek the first walk was to Glacier Martial (just out of town). The scenery was quite beautiful and very different to NZ - the glacier was so white it just looked like snow, and we got a fantastic view of Ushuaia from the top at 825m. Accommodation is a premium here so we're doing a bit of jumping around but it seems like an easy town to chill out in, so we'll make the most of it.
